Who Can Join Stondon Stompers?
We welcome children from local towns and villages and currently offer places for children from 1 year of age, subject to availability.
Our setting provides dedicated spaces for different age groups, allowing us to support children at each stage of their development in a nurturing, age-appropriate environment.β
Visiting Our Setting
We strongly encourage families to come and visit us before securing your child's place. Visiting the setting gives you the opportunity to meet our team, see our rooms and outdoor spaces, and get a feel for daily life at Stondon Stompers.
If you would like to arrange a visit, please contact us and we will be happy to organise a convenient time.
We also hold open days throughout the year, please let us know if you would like adding to our waiting list.
Securing a Place

-
Securing your child’s place and selected sessions
-
Up to 6 hours of settling-in sessions before your child officially starts
-
All consumables used during those settling sessions

Minimum Sessions
βTo help children settle into the setting and build consistency in their routine, we ask that children attend a minimum of two sessions per week.
This can be a combination of:
-
Two morning sessions
-
Two afternoon sessions
-
One full day
-
Or another suitable combination of sessions, depending on availability
If you would like to discuss session options, we are always happy to help.
Settle Sessions
βWe know that starting pre-school is a big milestone for both children and parents, and we work closely with families to make the transition as smooth and positive as possible.
Every child is different, so our settling-in process is tailored to individual needs. As part of the admissions process, your child will be offered settling sessions before they officially start.
β
A typical settling process may include:
-
An initial 1-hour session, where a parent or carer may stay with their child
-
A second 2-hour settling session, where parents are encouraged to leave if their child is ready
-
Regular updates from staff so you feel reassured and informed throughout the process
Where appropriate, we may also discuss additional settling support to ensure your child feels happy, secure and confident.
