NEF is claimed by Stompers on your behalf. You will be provided with a parent declaration form at the beginning of each full term to be completed and returned within the deadline given. If you do not return the form by this date Stompers cannot guarantee they will receive funding for your child and should this be the case term fees will apply.
* Government Nursery Education Funding is free at point of delivery. Universal free nursery education is available to all 3 and 4 year olds. If your child’s third birthday falls between: 1 April and 31 August they qualify for funding from 1 September; 1 September to 31 December, they qualify for funding from 1 January; 1 January to 31 March, they qualify for funding from 1 April. Entitlement to extended government funding and 2 year old funding is subject to the criteria set out by the Government.
Children who are entitled to NEF can claim at least 570 hours of universal NEF over no fewer than 38 weeks of the year.
Some families may be entitled to 2 year funding, eligibility criteria is set by the Local Authority (LA). Should you be entitled you will be provided by the LA, ie a children’s centre, with an eligibility letter that you will need to give to Stompers.
To receive 3-4 year funding your child will need to be 3 by the following dates: Autumn term; 31 August, Spring term; 31 December, Summer term; 31 March.
This is only available to children who have turned 3 by the dates above. Families may be entitled to an additional 570 hours of extended funding, which came into effective 1 September 2017. Parents/carers must check eligibility via the HMRC website.
If you meet the criteria HMRC will provide you with an eligibility code, start date, end date, and grace period dates. You will need to provide these to Stompers for the funding to be claimed. Therefore, your child can have up to a maximum of 15 or 30 hours of free pre-school sessions per week (subject to availability). You can choose to use all your hours with Stompers or you may wish to split the NEF between Stompers and another provider or childminder. If you have more than your funded sessions or you exceed the total hours claimed from the LA for the full term, a charge for the additional hours will be made.
